Community Retention and Linguistic Program in the Monteregie-Centre
This project aims to increase awareness of the Community Retention program to students in secondary and post-secondary education to inform and potentially influence their career trajectory. With our promotional and educational tools, we will demonstrate to students the career options available to them in Health and Social Services (HSS) and perhaps influence their field of study--and ultimately their career trajectory--to fill the regional needs for personnel in HSS occupations.
ARC Assistance and Referral Centre will accomplish this by working in close partnership with the CISSS Monteregie-Centre, the English-language school board and post-secondary education institutions to promote the program with commissioners, guidance counsellors and teachers. We will actively participate in various regional committees and initiatives related to local/regional employment and with the two other regional NPIs to collaborate on the Monteregie Employment Table.
Another part of Community Retention is the Bursary Program, which we will promote through our education partners, newsletter, website and social media, targeting secondary and post-secondary students, and their families.
The Linguistic Program will entail the ongoing recruitment, retention and recognition of volunteer facilitators to expand the linguistic program and create more training opportunities for employees in the CISSS-MC.
