Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence
Heritage Lower Saint-Lawrence’s objective is to work in partnership with a number of public health partners including: CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent, Eastern Shores School Board and Metis Beach School, Université du Québec à Rimouski, CEGEP de Rimouski, CEGEP de Rivière-du-Loup, Commission scolaire des Phares and Networking & Partnerships Initiatives (NPI) network in general, to offer an environment that facilitates the retention of youth and health and social services professionals as well as opportunities to choose a career in the health and social services sector in the Lower Saint Lawrence region for bilingual English-speakers. The objective is to help build the pool of bilingual human resources in public health and social services within the region.
This project’s activities include 1 – the administration, promotion and management of the Dialogue McGill Health and Social Services Community Leadership Bursary Program; 2 – career promotion activities with high school and post-secondary students; 3 – active participation in initiatives related to local or regional employment ; 4 – an active partnership with the CISSS to support their staffing needs; 5 – the offer of linguistic and cultural adaptation activities to health care and psychosocial services professionals; and the support of a regional strategy targeting specific careers.
