Investing in Our Tomorrow – A Community Retention Project for the Côte-Nord Region
To enhance access to health and social services in the English language within the North Shore region (09) through maintaining and strengthening of partnerships, promotion of HSS career exploration opportunities amongst youth; including promotion and development of strategies that will lead towards recruitment and retention of bilingual health and social service professionals on the North Shore.
North Shore Community Association (NSCA) will focus on maintaining and strengthening of partnerships and developing strategies that will lead towards recruitment and retention of health and social service professionals. The retention project aims towards the promotion of HSSS career awareness among English-speaking youth to increase career development opportunities and informed career choices leading to post-secondary/vocational studies and/or the workplace.
Activities include:
§ Promotional activities between high school students and health professionals, development, and distribution of promotional tools.
§ Promotion and management of the McGill Health and Social Services Community Leadership Bursary Program Bursary program.
§ Collaboration with community and public health partners to encourage recruitment of health and social services professionals.
